ZEWU scored another victory after successfully managing to bargain for the 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement with Companhia Do Pipeline Mozambique Zimbabwe (CPMZ) management last week in Mozambique.
President Chitambo was accompanied to the CBA negotiations by NEC member for Nyanga-Rusape Makiadi Mugabe and CPMZ Secretary Workers’ Union Prosper Matizanadzo a renowned footballer who plays for Premiership side, Buffaloes.
CPMZ was represented by Eng Donaldo Uaracula and Cassamo Miquidade.
Parties to the 2013 CPMZ and ZEWU Collective Bargaining Negotiation agreed to award as follows:
Salary increment to all employees was raised by $80 giving the lowest paid employees an increment of 26,6 percent, housing allowance 9 percent of the basic salary while school fees will be paid to employees starting in January 2014. Long service awards will also be paid in 2014 after factoring them into the 2014 budget.
The parties agreed that the agreement is effective 1st January 2013 to December 31st 2013.
Commenting on the developments, President Chitambo said the union was satisfied with the way negotiations were done and wished all companies in the energy sector to follow suit.
