Zimbabwe Energy Workers Union (ZEWU) President Angeline Chitambo recently attended the just ended Chinhoyi Agric Show in the company of Mr Martin Chikuni, Secretary General.
Asked for comment Presudent Chitambo said, “it was a great experience for us to meet our members and get a feel of what they do in their workstations. And besides, their [ZINWA] exihibition was outstanding coupled with their hospitality and detailed explanations to inquisitive visitors.”
Mr Chikuni concurred with Mrs Chitambo saying that the Manyame catchment team at the ZINWA stand did a marvelous job of welcoming people and offering detailed explanation on items on display as well as the authority’s operations.
“It was a well organized exhibition in which we came to fully comprehend the scope of ZINWA operations, the environment in which our members works as well as how certain feats are achieved such as drip irrigation among others.
“All this information gave us insight information like how to approach job grading issues and other labour relations challenges.
“At the end of the day it was quite an eventful and educative moment for us, ZEWU.
The Zewu team went on to visit other exhibitors of interest who included ZESA and EMA.
This visit is inline with ZEWU’s commitment to cover all issues that affect members on the job and ensure that the issues are resolved.
